I started cooking for myself and I found that I could eat all the foods that I love (pizza, burgers, chile) but I just have to make it myself with quality, low-fat, low-calorie items.Anitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03555502987311944933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5763275300418576117.post-33695525007582172332010-07-26T18:44:41.437-04:002010-07-26T18:44:41.437-04:00It is very refreshing to hear that other people th...It is very refreshing to hear that other people think and talk about this!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5763275300418576117.post-62227905322955049592010-07-26T18:34:22.238-04:002010-07-26T18:34:22.238-04:00I guess I'm not afraid of fat per se, just the...I guess I'm not afraid of fat per se, just the hidden fat that chefs and food manufacturers sneak into food. I enjoy cooking and eat out only once or twice a week. I like to get new ideas, but I don't want the extra sodium or fat.

I do caution you about your fear of fat. Remember your body/brain needs fat in order to survive. Low fat is another marketing gimmick to get you to buy a product. I would rather eat real food than eat a low-fat food that has extra sugar and chemicals. I eat real cheese because it tastes better; I just can't have too much.

Excellent idea about baking your own chicken/turkey instead of buying it at the deli counter. Pretty obvious, but I've never thought of that. Thanks!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
